Jemima Puddle Duck

I have been working on a little side project, (Shh!!) Just for fun, and too see if I can actually DO anything other than Sprytes..! I'll let you decide =)

This is Jemima Puddleduck, from Beatrix Potter.
I aquired aPotter pattern book a few weeks ago, and have been itching to play! I was asked if there was a Silly Little Duck in there, so I thought I would have a go at her first!
She was very fun to make, but so SMALL! And so most of the sewing had to be done by hand, so she has got a very old fashioned, handmade look to her.
The bonnet was incredibly hard, but I am really, really pleased with it, and will be making some for the Sprytes in the future!

Jemima Puddle Duck was the first book Beatrix Potter wrote that incorporated the farm on which she was eventually brought, called Hill Top, in the Lake District.
It included colour background illustrations of the actual working farm and yard.

Hello There Jemima!
This (below) photo shows the colour correctly, I have NO idea why they all came out in a different colour to this one, but hey!

Oh you Silly Duck!

I am SO pleased with this little peice of fabric I found yesterday at the scrap store. It is perfect!! It looks exactly like the one from the illustrations. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, it was meant to be. =D
Here are her little hand-sewn feet! They are wired, so she stands up beautifully, and can be posed too!

I would love to know what you think of her !

Have a wonderful weekend
