The British Faery: A view from the top

A view from the top

Spent a few hours up the top of St. Michaels Tower today. Its the oldest building in Oxford, dating back to before 1060, and was a church. All thats left now really is the North Tower. (The bell tower!)

I took one of the little Boys I nanny, he loved it. He's a quiet, peaceful kid, and he loved that it was so calm up there.
We were treated to the most amazing air show by the City Pigeons! They swooped over and around us for a good ten minutes. We were getting dizzy watching them! The sound of their wings flapping was so loud as they flew right over our heads =D
The little one loved looking at the people do far down below, walking up and down the High Street.
We also enjoyed using the beautiful glass Illustrations to find out what all the Buildings are called, and, he also like reading all the graffiti on the Steel Stair Box, haha!

It was a lovely way to spend a few hours..!

  2. I walk past the tower on my way to and from work every day and would you believe I have only been up there once and that was way back in 1990. Oxford looks wonderful from above doesn't it?
